On your PC
- Open the connection chooser in Prospective and select PC storage.
- In Windows File Explorer, locate the previous folder or backup. Check Documents and the folder selected during setup.
- Select the existing database folder. An empty database often means a different folder was selected: return to the chooser without overwriting data.

On a local server
- On the host PC, locate the database folder and check sharing for authorised users. Keep a complete backup.
- On another computer, enter the share path in File Explorer, for example \\SERVER\Prospective. The host must be running and reachable on the same network.
- Check read and write permissions. In Prospective, choose network storage and the same share on each workstation.
- Each workstation must see the same records. If Windows cannot open the share, fix network access before changing the database.
