Prospective
A local database deserves a proper backup.
Choosing local storage puts your files in your hands. It also makes you responsible for backing them up and protecting your computer.
Keep more than one version
Close Prospective before copying the entire database. Keep dated backups on a separate device, including a copy disconnected when not in use. Regularly check that you can restore a copy.
Synchronisation is not a backup
A cloud folder can synchronise a deletion or mistake across computers. Your provider’s file versions may help, but do not replace an independent backup strategy.
Protect the computer too
Keep Windows updated, limit authorised accounts and protect access. Local storage does not make a PC immune to malware, theft or hardware failure.
The best way is to try it.
Try Prospective with your own workflow, on your PC.
